To those coming to Scifest next weekend I have just been informed it has been cancelled due to the A/C. The system is down and it will be two weeks before it’s back in operation.

Real-world Voice: Her look and baby-voiced style were modeled after singer Helen Kane, though a Harlem jazz performer named Esther Jones (Baby Esther) actually pioneered the scat-style "boop-oop-a-doop" singing first.

Here is the first design of Betty Boop.
Betty Boop was originally created as an anthropomorphic French poodle with floppy ears and a button nose before transforming into a human.
She debuted on August 9, 1930, in the Fleischer Studios cartoon Dizzy Dishes.
Transformation: Her floppy dog ears cleverly turned into hoop earrings and her wet snout became a button nose within a single year to make her fully human.
